Do you exercise on a daily basis? If so, you will want to have access to abs workouts that can provide results that will make you look phenomenal. Whether you’re a bodybuilder wanting 6 pack abs, or simply someone who needs to lose some weight around the mid-section, it can be confusing to know which exercises are most effective. We wrote this article to help people looking for abs workouts that really do work. Let’s check out a few of them right now.

You can find all kinds of newfangled abs machines, but the Captain’s Chair remains one of the most effective. You can buy a home version of this machine or use the one at your gym, which is sure to have one. You can get a lot out of this machine simply by doing leg raises on it regularly. As you stand facing forward, grip the side rails with your hands and prepare to raise your legs. Raise your knees while keeping your upper body as relaxed and straight as possible. The motion should not be jerky or rapid, but slow and gradual. The legs come down in a steady motion as well, do don’t let them just drop. Try not to arch your back or perform the exercise too quickly or awkwardly. One abs exercise that requires no equipment at all except perhaps a mat is the bicycle. The bicycle is done on the ground, lying straight on your back with your head supported by your hands. Next, bring your shoulder blades and knees off the floor. As one of your legs is straightened out, the other remains bent; bring the opposite elbow to the bent knee. Alternate, as you bring up your other elbow to the opposite knee while straightening the other leg. The idea is to make it a steady bicycling or pedaling movement doing at least 10 repetitions. As you do the bicycle, keep your neck and back as relaxed as possible.

The TRX system is another workout you need to consider if you want awesome abs. This piece of workout equipment will workout your entire body, but the workouts that focus on your core are one of a kind and will get your some insane abs. Abs can be the toughest muscle group to get looking just right. Doing workouts of many kids is key for the core. The TRX system lets you get those angles that other systems do not get. The TRX can be a little pricey, but there are usually some discounts you can get on the system. Take a look at this here. But even if you cannot find a discount the system is still worth getting.

One exercise you shouldn’t overlook for your abs is the plank. Your back and abdominal muscles both get a great workout when you do this exercise. Keep your hands and arms on the floor or mat in the start-off position, with your face down. As your body rises, staying as straight as possible, you bring your weight onto your toes and arms. Stay in the upwards for 60 seconds (or as long as you can) and then come down. As with any exercise, it doesn’t matter where you start, but if you practice you’ll be able to hold the position longer. Abs workouts are something you should include in your exercise regimen, but you don’t have to do them more often than any other type of workout. To prevent overtraining your abdominal area, only do this twice a week, perhaps three times if you are training hard. Just include some of these abdominal workout routines into your existing regimen to start seeing results soon.
