Muscle Training - It’s Just Not That Complicated

Muscle training doesn’t have to be difficult. Well, you do have to train hard but the steps you need to take to build muscle are pretty simple.

First of all, you need to keep your muscles guessing by changing your workout every so often and making it challenging. If you keep doing the same exercises at the same weight, you’ll stop improving.

Just because your workout should be challenging, however, doesn’t mean you have to lift a particular amount of weight. Many lifters make the mistake of thinking they need to lift as much as the next guy or they won’t make progress.

Unless you’re entering a strong man contest or something of that sort, it doesn’t matter how much actual weight you lift. If you’re just trying to get in shape and look good, you need to lift a weight that is heavy for YOU.

You see, as long as you’re challenging your muscles during every workout, you’ll get good results. This means working your hardest every time you hit the gym and performing each exercise to failure. You’ll know you’re there when you can’t possibly do one more repetition of an exercise. You might lift it a quarter of the way and then your muscle just quits and won’t go any further.

Just remember when you’re working this hard and lifting until failure, you need to have spotter for certain exercises. After all, who cares how they look when a barbell just fell on their head? Always take safety precautions.

By following this simple principle, you’ll make real progress with your muscle training efforts. Workout hard each and every time and you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve.
