A good fat loss plan should enable you to lose body fat while also being able to enjoy life to the fullest. It seems futile to get your body into perfect shape if you must give up everything you like along the way. Some of life’s greatest experiences are social events where you share amazing food and drinks with family and friends. It is possible for you to enjoy highly caloric food, treats and beverages at the same time you get a terrific body, as long as you do so intelligently. If you want a great body and enjoy great food, follow these couple of guidelines.
Consider Your Weekly Calorie Tally, NOT Your Daily Total
Many folks become bogged down by the notion that they must keep close track of calories ingested each and every day. The problem with this is that it doesn’t really allow for big meals with drinks. In order to succeed, a guy would have to stick to about 1800 calories everyday if he weighs in around 180 pounds. Some tasty BBQ accompanied by chips, potato salad, dessert and cold beer will surpass the daily calorie limit in a single meal. Thus, the diet has already proven a failure.
It is Wiser to Tally Calories Eaten Over the Entire Week
To be honest, I don’t even believe in counting calories. But I do give credence to falling within a range of calories. So if for instance that same 180 pound man had a 4,000 calorie day, he would ideally have a low cal day leading up to it and 2 lower calorie days after this BBQ. So in this example he overshot the mark by 2,200. But he only needs to have a handful of 1,000 calorie days in order to compensate for the indulgence.
A Few Frequent Objections to This Plan
A common reaction to this strategy is that people believe their metabolism will slow down if they don’t eat every few hours. This belief has been proven false in the past few years. Others believe that they will lose muscle if they don’t eat enough protein day-to-day. This has been proven false as well. Recent research studied people working out three times a week and only consuming 800 calories for several week. The subjects did not experience substantial amounts of muscle loss. Commonly referenced phenomena such as the starvation effect and muscle wasting are things that occur over extended periods, and therefore they will not take hold by the mere fact of the occasional low calorie day.
Worrying About Social Events Are a Thing of the Past
If you think about it, there is no other effective approach for losing body fat and maximizing social events at the same time. All other lifestyles include leaving out favorite foods. You will need to throw in some lower calorie days, but this is the only fat loss plan that will allow you to stay ripped without holding back at social events.
